Sometimes we get requests that fall outside of our usual norms, but since when is a challenge something to shy away from?
So a few messages were exchanged after a last minute cancellation about perhaps tackling an unusual task photographing a Landrover Defender 90 in all its glory, this is a project that the Landrovers owner has taken on, painstakingly going over every detail and bringing this marvelous feat of automobile engineering to life and making it look quite frankly fantastic.
So we jumped at the opportunity to try some different and perhaps a little experimental, let's show this 4x4 to it's absolute best.
The approach was simple let's backlight the Landrover using the sun as our secondary light to really make it pop out of the scenery, we then lit the landrover up from the front with the Godox AD180 with the selens hexadecagonal softbox using only the inner diffuser which produces a really contrasty punchy specular light that finds its way over the Landrover's body pulling out those important details.
The next challenge was a personal challenge , ok we have done the standard shots that show the vehicle for what it is now lets kick it up another notch!
the following photo is comprised of 8 single photos stitched together to produce one huge panoramic photo, the reason for attempting this was to really compress the background and bring that forwards but also show the Landrover in what many would consider its natural environment.... the great outdoors
